Philosophy

The Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law analyzes the law from a global perspective. This perspective encompasses a broad range of international law specialties, including human rights law, international trade law, the laws of armed conflict, and environmental law, among others. As a comparative law journal, the Journal also publishes scholarship on the relationships between the domestic laws of nations and the practical impact of these relationships on daily life in an increasingly global society. The journal actively seeks and publishes works by legal scholars and students throughout the world.

It is the mission of the Journal to contribute to the development of international and comparative law and promote greater understanding of international and comparative law at Notre Dame Law School, as well as within the legal community at large. Members of the Journal are integral to this mission, and the journal strives to provide its members with the inspiration and opportunity to pursue their scholarly interests while sharpening their writing, editorial, and analytical skills.
